I kept my bucket of silica gel for storing PLA filament and anything else I might need to stay dry. I've been using regular clear/white silica gel packs for years, but I don't like the fact that I can't tell when it's gone. I either run the risk of damaging my stuff if I don't change stock often enough, or I end up spending money replacing old silica that still has life in it. This stuff works great and costs around $30 which is a HUGE value. To test if it really changes color when saturated, I place a teaspoon on one side of a large glass jar and a damp paper towel on the other. Overnight, the pearls turned from translucent cobalt blue to yellow and finally Barbie pink. Aha! They work! If for any reason I manage to get over 7 pounds off of this stuff (it's supposedly recyclable) I'll definitely buy it again.
