Choose this rug for its thickness and shade. This rug has a gentle taper with a slope of only 25° (versus 45° for most). This steeper incline/taper makes them dangerous for trip hazards and makes my wheeled countertops unstable when moving across the surface between the floor and the mat. This mat is a replacement for the same one I've been using for 11 years. This old carpet had a smooth surface. This rug has a texture that I don't like - it's too hard to remove the hair. That little detail aside, this rug offers all-day comfort at a great price.
