Our kitty finds it fun to climb on the lamps on our bedside tables. Now that she's used to it, she can walk on it carefully, but gone are the days of running at full speed and dropping those big lamps on the ground. Thanks to the carpeting and the lampshades, they are only bent, not broken. You can crop them to overlap so they can be placed anywhere. With a tiny piece of double-sided tape in the corners, it doesn't knock them off. I take them off every two weeks when the cleaning lady comes and put them back on when she leaves. My lamps sit on mats with no problems. The small tips are simply flattened.
