I've been using the SurdBoard line for over 10 years but in the last year I've tried 5 of these SB6141 black blocks. They all arrive in brand new packaging and work great the first time you plug them in. They were cheap so I bought a few and have now looked through them all. The best I can say is that they don't like it when the power cord is disconnected/reconnected. Something seems to be frying preventing them from returning to the network, instead they endlessly switch status displays. I will try NetGear. Trying to save money turned out to be more expensive, not to mention the inconvenience of not having internet. It started a few days ago when I unplugged the modem and saw 99% data usage with Cox. When I plugged it back in, it didn't come back. I exchanged it for another and it was good to go. Unfortunately, Cox passed out the next day, but I didn't know that. So I unplugged and plugged the modem back in a few times to no avail. When Cox solved his problem, my modem wouldn't turn on. So I replaced it with my newest one and it works and I immediately ordered a NetGear CM700. But I'm not going to disable this latest Arris SB6141. I can reset by phone through Verizon. Suggests the Chinese caught a bad batch and resold it as "new".
