TL; DR: I received a non-functional unit and Garmin has asked me to wait two weeks for a new one to be shipped or deposit an additional $240. Deposit to receive it within a week. The incentives here are clear: I'll return Garmin through Revain and buy Wahoo. The Edge 530 that I received was unable to update firmware using Garmin Connect software and was unable to maintain a Bluetooth connection with my iPhone. . After spending almost an hour contacting Garmin support and troubleshooting, I was told I would have to return the unit to Garmin and then wait 10-12 business days for a replacement. Or I could pay them extra $240 and wait 3-7 business days for a replacement. I told a customer service rep that these options are unappealing. After spending $300 on a device with no basic features, I expected at least expedited shipping for a replacement. With that, the representative ended the chat. I've heard good things about Garmin devices, but this experience was enough to make me turn my back on them.
