Review on Lutron Maestro MACL-153M-WH LED+ Dimmer Single/Multi Pole White For LEDs, Halogen & Incandescent Bulbs by Jeremy Keller

Revainrating 5 out of 5

Works well with my 5 x100W Switch LED's

I initially had a Lutron Diva Dimmer for my five new Switch 100 watt LED bulbs (which are great). The dimmer worked fine but the bulbs when turned on jumped to 100% brightness (1/4 second) then immediately go the the dim level I has set which was a bit annoying. Replacing the dimmer with the Maestro solved this issue. The bulbs run silently at all dimming levels (no buzzing like other dimmers) and are the same color temp at all dimming levels which is nice. You can set the minimum dim level on the switch to get to where the bulbs are at your preferred minimum brightness and where the bulbs don't flicker which is an issue for some LED & CF bulbs. I like the dim to off feature of the Maestro dimmer. I also like that I can set the dim range (min to max) and that the light turns or off on regardless of where you press the switch/button. There is no top is on and bottom is off, you just press it to change its state. I also like that a single press turns it on to the brightness level I had it at previously. A double tap brings it to full brightness. Though there are dim always active green lights along the left edge of the switch I do wish that the button itself was illuminated, it is not. Overall, if you have LED bulbs this is the best option for you. If you plan on using this on an LED or CFL bulb do verify that the bulb is suitable for dimming. If you are still rocking the standard Tungsten bulb or Halogen, this dimmer works just fine for that too. In the 3 months (now 5) of use I have not found any down side to this switch.
