Took care of my flickering

I recently installed some low wattage LED bulbs in my master bathroom. The 20 year old Lutron dimmer switch I had was not rated for current that low and the bulbs would start flickering on and off after a minute or so. After installing this new switch, the flickering is gone. There is still a slight humming noise, so don't purchase this thinking that it will solve that particular problem for you. But if you need steady dimmable LED light, buy with confidence.

Cons
  • The switch may not work with all types of LED lights at different dimming levels

As far as the product goes, it works totally as advertised. It was a breeze to install. I just cut the power to the area, unscrewed the wall plate, unscrewed the prior switch, unscrewed the screws connecting the wiring, refit the wiring around the screws on the dimmer switch and put everything back. Five minutes per switch and done. A few months later and everything is working great. Which leads me to my real point. Dimmer switches are AWESOME!I have a new construction home that has recessed…

It's cool, but may have issues with some LED bulbs

I do like the way these work overall with the controls and the indicator lights. When it's off it'll show you what it's going to light up to, so you hopefully don't shock your eyeballs in the early morning.Lutron posts lists of which bulbs they've tested it with because turning an LED bulb all the way off doesn't always work--which is weird. Why doesn't it sever the connection completely when it gets down to off? I've bought about 6 of these dimmers, all connected to LED floodlights in ceiling…

It works wonderfully as a 4 way dimmer

I did an internet search on 4-way dimmers and found nothing except this. Most said it wasn't possible or didn't exist. But this product showed up in the search. I read the reviews and answered questions on amazon. What I found was that if you order this with companion switches it will work as a 4 way dimmer. So I ordered it with 2 companion switches. I carefully opened the box (thinking I might have to return this) and read the directions. It said for 4 way or multiple applications to read the…

Works great, but never actually turns the bulbs fully off

I bought this unit to dim 7 led light fixtures. It brightens and dims seamlessly with no flickering at all, but the bulbs never actually turn off, they just go down to a very dull glow. I suppose this is due to the fact that this unit does not need a neutral connection (making it super-easy to install) but this means that it always allows a very small current to pass and this results in the dull glow of the bulbs? There is a manual "bulb-change" switch at the bottom of the unit which allows you

Works well with my 5 x100W Switch LED's

I initially had a Lutron Diva Dimmer for my five new Switch 100 watt LED bulbs (which are great). The dimmer worked fine but the bulbs when turned on jumped to 100% brightness (1/4 second) then immediately go the the dim level I has set which was a bit annoying. Replacing the dimmer with the Maestro solved this issue. The bulbs run silently at all dimming levels (no buzzing like other dimmers) and are the same color temp at all dimming levels which is nice. You can set the minimum dim level on…

I loved it until it broke

This dimmer worked wonderfully for my porch lights for several years. It's a very elegant and modern take on a dimmer switch. I love the fade in and out when you turn it on and off (by tapping once), the subtle LED light brightness indicator, and the "memory" feature (where it remembers the previous brightness setting).I ultimately replaced this Maestro switch with a wifi-enabled dimmer switch so I could control my porch lights remotely, and moved it to my kitchen to dim my under-cabinet…

Good switch for LEDs with great instructions!

I purchased this Lutron Maestro switch as a substitute for the Lutron DIVA I tried previously. I replaced the bulbs in my track lighting fixture (http://amzn.com/B005D86XBE ) with LED bulbs (http://amzn.com/B00LGZCVSW ) and found that with the DIVA, there was still noticeable flickering no matter how I adjusted the dimmer low limit. This Maestro switch solved that.PROS: As with the DIVA, the MAESTRO switch came with EXCELLENT instructions. I really mean excellent. Lutron includes clear…

My new favorite dimmer

This is my new favorite dimmer. I bought a whole bunch of FEIT R30 bulbs from Costco. I had some dinky little LED dimmers from the previous owner that were a tiny slider on the side of a standard toggle switch. The bulbs would flicker in any position, infuriatingly only after you walked away from the switch. This dimmer is a high quality piece--the ears break off nice and clean for multi-gang boxes, and the insert terminals on the back are great. It has a series of green tiny LEDs on the side…
