Review on Lutron Maestro MACL-153M-WH LED+ Dimmer Single/Multi Pole White For LEDs, Halogen & Incandescent Bulbs by Rich Montgomery

I loved it until it broke

This dimmer worked wonderfully for my porch lights for several years. It's a very elegant and modern take on a dimmer switch. I love the fade in and out when you turn it on and off (by tapping once), the subtle LED light brightness indicator, and the "memory" feature (where it remembers the previous brightness setting).I ultimately replaced this Maestro switch with a wifi-enabled dimmer switch so I could control my porch lights remotely, and moved it to my kitchen to dim my under-cabinet lights. The dimmer still works, but at some point the "memory" feature stopped working. So when you tap on the switch once to turn the lights on, it turns on to the default brightness, which is somewhat less than full brightness, and the 3rd indicator LED from the top is lit up. The memory feature is one of the key reasons I installed the switch, so this was a no-go for me. I replaced it with a Lutron Diva LED+ switch, which accomplishes the same thing in a less elegant package. Ultimately I kind of wish I had gotten another one of these, but I'm not bothered enough to get a new Maestro switch when it could break again.
