The flexible gooseneck won't stay in place and the tripod broke immediately

I'm 0-2 with items I recently bought for a time lapse photo project using my iPhone. This tripod is very cheaply made (let's face it, what can you expect at that price?). However, my biggest complaint is the gooseneck mount, which was the main reason I bought the device. It's flexible, but only in one direction. For example, there is no way to bend your neck to point the camera at the ground or floor. Also, it doesn't stay in place after you place it. It just starts to return to its default straight position, making it unusable for framing. Finally, the tripod itself had a screw that came loose and was impossible to screw back in. The nut on the other side literally doesn't engage the threads of the bolt. It must have been pressed tighter at the factory, but if you accidentally back it out too far and the nut comes loose, forget to put it back together.
