I feel like I need a new router every year so I've tried many routers. Here are the pros and cons as I see them. Pros: - Excellent speed. Gigabit ports for wired and wireless networks with excellent speed. Small sizes. The tubular design takes up less shelf space, which is welcome. - No external antennas. - Sleek, simple design. - Great coverage. This is the best assortment I have ever had at home. In the widest room from 0 to 1 bar of reception to a fairly stable 2 bars. - Tons of additional features. For the technically savvy. There are many additional settings that can be used from a fixed IP address to a cloud server and application. I'm definitely not using everything this router can do. - Dual band (2.4GHz and 5GHz) - Not hot (problem with older routers of a different design, link to this product page) Cons: - Expensive but you get the features you pay for - Menus (which you get, connect the IP address of the administrator) are arranged in a confusing manner. The menu should be familiar to those familiar with D-Link routers, but it can be very confusing for those unfamiliar with dynamic layout. Fortunately, if you don't want to use advanced custom features, you don't have to mess with it. Controversial: - Relatively simple structure. Router configuration has gone from almost requiring an IT degree to almost entirely automated. It's somewhere in the middle. There is no installation disk, you just use the "connect router and run admin address" method. Pretty easy for those familiar with it, but not as painless as some routers. Summary: This is a great router with blistering speeds and a compact form factor, suitable for both techies and casual users who need great coverage and lightning speed.
