This serves exactly the purpose I was looking for. I wanted to get rid of the large stereo cabinet that I kept my old AM/FM receiver and 5 disc changer in. I wanted something that would allow me to sit on the kitchen countertop and listen to music while cooking, eating, or out on the patio. With that in mind, this is perfect. So far I've only had it 2 days so take that into account. But the design is confusing. If you place it on a table top like I did with push button controls and the display facing front, the lid on the back will pop open forcing you to rotate or work around the lid to eject/insert the drive. Also, if you put it on a table top with a lid on top (and why put it anywhere with a lid on the bottom anyway), the display will be upside down. It's really meant to be wall mounted (bracket included) or placed on a table. its edge (including stand), which will probably fit over time. But I really wanted it to only be on the countertop. I would give it 5 stars aside from the odd design elements I mentioned.
