I wrote a 5 star review first saying this is the type of hub that can stay connected to your MacBook permanently and you can put a piece of tape on the bottom to hold it in place so that it seems to be working great BUT then i noticed that the LIGHT on the hub is ALWAYS on even when my macbook was shut down for hours which made me concerned at how much battery it was using after measuring the battery drop overnight with and without the hub , I found that the Hub was consuming 11% of my battery in 8 hours *on its own*. In other words, if you leave your laptop unplugged for a day, it will be drained third of your battery. This IS COMPLETE is unacceptable. They had no reason to turn on the light - it has no function. As such, I would only recommend this hub if you keep your MacBook connected to the network most of the time. Traveling with it is a terrible drain on the battery. Unfortunately I now have to bring this back and look for another hub that doesn't turn on a totally unnecessary light.
