No speed loss from TB3 and SIT GREAT!

I've tried 3 of these in the last 5 months and this remains my favorite to this day. There is no loss of speed or performance when using TB3 when connected to my eGPU. (As you can see in the screenshot - still 40 Gbps). This one feels a little heavier (still very light) compared to others I've used and doesn't have the "empty" feel you get with imitations or hubs made with very poor quality internals . My MacBook sits on a table with no pressure on the actual hub. It really looks like an…

Pros
  • Plug & Play, Mac-inspired design is the perfect companion for your MacBook Air/Pro to boost your productivity. Note. Not recommended for use with a laptop bag! Doesn't support Apple USB SuperDrive!
Cons
  • I vaguely remember

I wrote a 5 star review first saying this is the type of hub that can stay connected to your MacBook permanently and you can put a piece of tape on the bottom to hold it in place so that it seems to be working great BUT then i noticed that the LIGHT on the hub is ALWAYS on even when my macbook was shut down for hours which made me concerned at how much battery it was using after measuring the battery drop overnight with and without the hub , I found that the Hub was consuming 11% of my battery…

Pros
  • Immediate expansion - only five ports usable at the same time - HDMI (4K at 30Hz), 40Gbps TB3 (100W PD), USB-C Data and 2 USB 3.0 ports
Cons
  • High price

Great form and function!

Purgo stays true to its USB C Hub hub with a 2018 MacBook Air. It is very portable with an apparent metal construction. The color goes well with my Space Gray MacBook. It's a bit thicker than the laptop itself, but not by much. This is to be expected since the thickness of the USB port or HDMI port is almost the same as the thickness of the laptop itself. Pros: - Fits well in my pocket. Well made, so you don't have to worry about damage during transport. The sleek, clean look pairs well with…

It will DESTROY your Macbook!

This product obviously didn't suit me at all. I used to have another USB Type-C hub that worked fine, but this one started showing problems as soon as I connected it to my computer and monitor. It failed to connect properly to the external display and changed the color profile on my Mac. Now I have 28 bad profiles as shown in the Colorsync Utility app and I need to take my laptop to Apple to have the problem fixed. The ONLY setting I changed was disabling and re-enabling screen mirroring, but…

Simplified Convenience - connect individually

The solution to my need to connect an external display, mouse and keyboard. Nicely compatible with my Mac (choose the right color) and a tidy cable organizer. Detaches easily to use the laptop in its intended portable configuration. One caveat: plug it in, and then plug in the peripherals one at a time. I mistakenly connected all my peripherals to the device first and then connected the device to my Mac and for half an hour I thought my MacBook turned into a brick. It closed and wouldn't turn…

I originally wrote a 5 star review saying this is the ONLY hub that stays permanently connected to your MacBook Yes it detaches very easily the hub is ALWAYS on even when my macbook was off for hours which made me worry about how much battery it was using. After measuring the battery drop overnight with and without the hub I set found that this hub used 11% of my battery in 8 hours* by itself in other words if you leave your laptop unplugged for a day it will use a third of your battery it's…
