We've had this mat for about 10 years and it had to be replaced because it spilled hot grease on it and it melted. Bought a larger size in the same design as before. That's how we liked it. Our rug had been in the same spot for over a week and when we picked it up the grass underneath was still alive. It is very easy to clean by sweeping or rinsing, the dirt will be removed. The fabric will drain water and won't leave wet stains unless it sits in a hole. Can't say we'll buy again because we already have. This should have more peace and not drag dirt to the side.
