Review on 📷 Garmin BC 40 Wireless Backup Camera - Enhanced Compatibility with Garmin Navigators - Black by Jorge Toussaint

If you already have a Garmin GPS navigator then this

This rear view camera works great. The installation only takes a few minutes and is explained in detail in the Quick Start Guide. Obviously, the device has been carefully designed to adapt to different needs. For example, most additional cameras are at the top of the license frame, which is the default position for that camera. However, the ones I've tried jammed the hatch handle on my SUV, making it difficult or impossible to open. It was the same with this device, which completely blocked the grip, but the frame is designed so that the camera mount can be flipped, and the mount can be flipped with the camera at the bottom. It worked great. If you have a compatible Garmin navigation system that includes the DriveSmart series (compatibility list available online), all you have to do is insert 2 lithium batteries, remove the license plate and reinstall the camera mount. Insert your camera and you're done. The camera automatically connects to the GPS and includes several handy features. It turns on automatically when the car is started. The display is sharp, adapts well to sudden changes in light, e.g. B. when the car is parked in a garage outside in bright sunlight, and turns off automatically when the GPS detects forward movement or after a few minutes. A button for manually turning the camera on and off appears in the top right corner of the display, and voice commands can also be used. It would be nice if the camera would turn on automatically when the GPS detects backward movement, while turning off when moving forward. , but that might require too much distance to be useful and it doesn't matter anyway. Assuming this camera proves to be durable and waterproof over time, I'll be very happy with it. As mentioned, the plug-in aspect of the camera is convenient for installing and replacing the battery, but also does the stealing process in 2 seconds. It might be better to remove it a little less comfortably to reduce this risk, but maybe that's not a problem. Time will tell, but for quality, ease of installation, and overall comfort, it's definitely a 5. Edit: After a few weeks of use, this still gets a 5 rating. Sometimes it takes a few seconds to connect when starting the car, but not always, and the delay never exceeds 3-5 seconds. This makes reversing with an SUV much easier. Petty theft can be partially solved by adding a pair of metal tabs that screw into the bottom holes of the license plate (see photo). No evidence of theft, but not a 2 second matter. Garmin should include something like this by default. All in all, this camera is a good choice.
