Garmin needs to solve the theft problem

I have no problems with the camera itself. It works great and is easy to set up. What I have trouble with is how easy it is to steal. It can literally be pulled out of the side clips with minimal effort. It even fell down once when I accidentally slammed the door it was attached to. I'm tired of putting it in the glove box when parking in public and forgetting to put it back on when I get back. Garmin seriously needs to fix this and make it more reliable.

Garbage - Waste of time and money

The first thing I bought was a Garmin motorhome. Combo with reversing camera BC30. which connects. I collect them in one package. Install the rear camera and then download the GPS which took more than 5 hours to update. I have concluded that the device will not work with any camera other than the BC40, so I am buying it. Install it. Learn that it can only be installed with a license plate bracket and does not reach the "wireless" limit. This is an RV to scream out loud. It is big! Whoever…

This reversing camera is the solution!

I have an Alfa Romeo 4C sports car which is fun but parallel parking is a nightmare due to the lack of direct rear view. This camera is easy to set up, provides clear video of what's behind me, and makes backups safer. The camera has an ultra wide angle lens. The good thing is that I not only see to the rear, but also what's coming from behind and I roll out of the parking space safely. The downside is that everything looks further away than it really is, and I had to learn how to do that by…

LARGE REAR VIEW CAMERA FOR OLD CARS

My car is a 2012 Toyota Prius C and does not have a built in rear view camera. The Garmin BC 40 fills this gap. When parking in busy parking lots or in old neighborhoods with small or dead ends, having such a good backup camera helps me avoid fender buckling and unthinkable injuries from an unexpected pedestrian walking behind my SUV. This camera connects to your vehicle via Bluetooth. compatible Garmin vehicle GPS device. Visit the Garmin website for a list of compatible devices. The…

Front Bumper Parking Camera Use

I bought this BC40 for ease of installation and expected limited use as a front bumper parking camera. I prefer to hardwire everything but succumbed to the ease of installation and setup of this unit. The start was a bit shaky. It recognized the camera but failed to connect on the second launch. After Garmin has done two reboots things seem to have settled down and everything is working as intended. LIKE: You can flip the video and remove guides (for front cameras). Perfect for my use as a…

If you already have a Garmin GPS navigator then this

This rear view camera works great. The installation only takes a few minutes and is explained in detail in the Quick Start Guide. Obviously, the device has been carefully designed to adapt to different needs. For example, most additional cameras are at the top of the license frame, which is the default position for that camera. However, the ones I've tried jammed the hatch handle on my SUV, making it difficult or impossible to open. It was the same with this device, which completely blocked the

Easy to install, easy to use - with some caveats

Pro - ABSOLUTELY easy to install with no fuss. Installing the BC-40 is as easy as it gets. BK-30 (wired) BK is a lot of work (milling, drilling, etc.) and if you don't know what you're doing with the electrical connections you'll probably at least burn out your fitting. Alternatively, you can power the BC-30 from a direct socket on your vehicle, but this somewhat defeats the purpose of a rear-view camera. Cons - If you're looking for a backup camera that works like pre-installed backup cameras,

The fish eye didn't work for me.

Judging by the reviews, this camera works for many. However, I could not learn to interpret the fisheye view. And the cars are coming too fast from either side to see them. glare at night. You need a big screen navigator. I wouldn't use it with a smaller model than the 6.95 inch DriveSmart I have. Easy installation. Please note that you cannot use it with a license plate frame. In my car, the camera crashed into the area where I held my hand to fully open the trunk, but this can be worked…

Pros
  • Allows wireless pairing with a compatible Wi-Fi enabled Garmin navigator to view a rear camera image on the navigation display.
Cons
  • There are cons

The camera has been working for a few days, here is my first review: Pros: * Installation is easy, no wiring required * Pairing with a supported GPS is very easy Cons: * It's not listed in the literature, but high resolution can be obtained of images (1280 x 720), you should have a DriveSmart 55 or 65. However, my DriveSmart 61 has a firmware update to support the camera. There is only one low resolution image (640x480 in my opinion), on a 7" display it's not good, all the jagged edges are…
