Peacock Reassurance

I got her to deal with a peacock that attacked my (glass) back door for much of the spring and summer. The poor guy got up every morning and fought his reflection in the mirror until he passed out. I tried to discipline the bird by running down the stairs and shouting "BAD!" (as Eric Cartman) at a bird every time I saw it jump onto the glass, as recommended by the local wildlife expert, but it just scared and confused it. When he started pulling out feathers, I realized that more drastic measures had to be taken. So I let this 10 pound bird into my house and saw for myself that there were no enemy peacocks to fight. I don't recommend this method because peacocks don't understand windows better when they're indoors. They're always trying to get out the window, and when that doesn't work, they panic. And then someone has to pick up a distressed 5ft wingspan bird flapping its wings, pooping and clawing at its well-meaning savior. order, so I looked for other options. Also, ABC has been pretty vague about how their product works. I've seen other bird tapes that didn't do anything, so I was skeptical. The light wavelength chart provided by Artscape confirmed what the expert had said about bird vision and provided a factual basis that other products did not have. Even after my experiment in aversion therapy, the peacock continued to stare out the glass of my back door. After I installed the deflectors, the reaction was unmistakable. My peacock jumped around the corner and stopped as soon as he saw the deflectors. He didn't approach the door for a very long time, and when he approached he paid no more attention to it than to the wall next to it. Now his demeanor is relaxed and...generally normal. Everything he had previously seen in the jar was now gone.
