Hooray for the birds! in Home Decor Products

We have a huge row of east facing windows in our home and get 2-3 bird strikes a day. Not usually fatal, thank goodness, but still - bloody amazing when you watch TV. They are a good size and quite inconspicuous. Very easy to attach and remove; They're basically just cling vinyl windows. I especially liked that they mount on the inside of the window so I don't have to grab a ladder and go outside. In the 2-3 weeks after I installed them we only had one bird hit the window - so I'd say they…

Wow! No more bird strikes!

Really works! I just saw a terrified goldfinch rush to the window and change course less than a foot from the window and take off! So happy. A highly recommended product. Very easy to install - use a ruler to place if you are a perfectionist. I applied them by hand and the result was acceptable. I like that they are on the inside of the window. If they come loose, it's easy to fix. So far, a week after installation, they are hanging hard. Honestly the best buy ever. No more dazed or dead birds…

This works, it only lasts.

They work but you need to experiment with them to find the perfect spot on the window to protect birds from attack and make sure there are enough of them on the window. I have a homemade birdcage that is placed right in front of a large window to make wild birds think they can fly around or even land on it. It took me a few days of playing around with them to find the sweet spot. At first I only put two, but eventually rearranged and added two more. Now when the wild birds outside scatter or…

Pros
  • Finally bought
Cons
  • No insurance

The robin attacked the window every day for several weeks in a row. He would sit on the windowsill and peck out the window several times a day, making a mess on the windowsill and on the porch below. Tried to stick strips of carpet on the windowsill, did not help. I hung them 4 days ago and the robin has not attacked the window since. I can't tell if it's the window deflectors or if the bird just went somewhere and found a new window. If it's not the deflectors then it's quite a coincidence…

Works on north facing windows

Bought these stickers 5 months ago. I wanted to find decals that would complement my living room decor without looking tacky or childish. I placed one of these decals in the top center of each north-facing floor-to-ceiling window in my living room. They really do look like engraved pieces of glass in my windows. Very unobtrusive. The photo shows three stickers and a flock of birds happily eating the bird feeder behind. My husband, who initially doubted how it would look, was pleased with the…

Significant improvement

We have the worst case scenario for a one window bird strike: an almost entirely glazed house extension with bird feeder. It is not difficult to determine where most of the blows were (traces of feathers); Each large panel measures approximately 3 feet by 7 feet. We have dispensed with the bottom row of glasses. Collisions have decreased by 80-90%, and the rest seems to lead to fewer deaths (maybe the birds at least see something and try to turn away at the last moment)? You really need to…

Cannot be used alone as a preventive measure

They might work, but they didn't work on my living room's large (67 inch) picture window where birds occasionally swoop in. 't :( . So I happily stuck some of these stickers to the pane as soon as they arrived - it was very easy and quick. But just a few minutes after sticking it, a bird crashed into the pane! What's up?! Maybe instead were the birds attracted by the stickers?! Eventually I found out that the blind of this window was obscured most of the time (over 90%) due to the strong direct

Peacock Reassurance

I got her to deal with a peacock that attacked my (glass) back door for much of the spring and summer. The poor guy got up every morning and fought his reflection in the mirror until he passed out. I tried to discipline the bird by running down the stairs and shouting "BAD!" (as Eric Cartman) at a bird every time I saw it jump onto the glass, as recommended by the local wildlife expert, but it just scared and confused it. When he started pulling out feathers, I realized that more drastic…
