Hands down the best dryer ever. Food dries evenly. A piece of cake to peel and use. I use it all day every day. If you're wondering what size to buy, take more than you think. You will use every shelf. They are easy to fill. If you get smaller, you'll kick yourself later. I swear. I was so thankful I bought a larger Excalibur. I love it! My kids love the healthy snacks that come out of this! fruit rolls and dried fruits. I also dry tomatoes, herbs and jerky! A few words about fruit rolls: Here's how I make them: I cook the fruit like you would making jam or jelly and add just a little bit of sugar, just enough to bring out the sweetness. (This can range from a few tablespoons to 1/4 cup for a large batch that fills all the shelves). Cook it for about 30 minutes. Puree everything with a blender and then distribute on special fruit bowls (not necessarily smooth). That's all! When everything is ready I wrap it in cellophane and roll it up. Then I cut the roll into smaller pieces to stick on for dinner. Children love, love, love my fruit rolls!
