This worked better than I expected. I have natural hair - probably 4b/c. When I detangle my hair it looks more like an afro so I was really surprised it worked. My "after" photo is after I blow dry my hair and BEFORE I use the flat iron. I liked that it makes your hair look like mud. It worked so well that I was able to lower the temperature of the iron and didn't get it as hot. I used it several times before writing a review. It would be more effective if I divided my hair into smaller sections (a little more than straightening) and then used those. The grip is nice and firm so I didn't need both hands all the time so I felt less discomfort and less sore in my hand. And because the air isn't blown out directly, there's less heat in tight spots like around the ears or closer to the leading edge. You can also put it on without blowing it all off your countertop :) If I had to find a small minus it would be a twist. Lets you stop and hold it with both hands when you need to turn it off really quickly. I wish I had bought this much sooner.
