I'm surprised they aren't included in the original needle sets. It's disappointing because these little gadgets are extremely useful and give you absolutely the most versatility you could ever have. When I was knitting some special pieces that required 600 stitches in the first section, joining the sections together to get the knitted length was a great benefit. There wasn't a single needle of the length I needed unless I bought an expensive specialty needle. It's silly when they're cheap and do the job as well or better than buying a different needle. I love them and have bought them more than once.
