The overall packaging of the cup warmer was simple and reliable. I liked it elegant. The heating pad was protected by a thin layer of plastic that removed easily and cleanly. No sticky stuff. There were no instructions included, but it's actually that simple. There are 2 heating modes, P1 and P2, as well as an auto shut-off that can be set from 1 to 12 hours. Both functions have been woken up as described in Revain. I'm not overly impressed with this heater on the P1 setting. It doesn't really get hot enough to do anything. The P2 keeps the coffee warm and does a great job of melting the wax. I have included photos of a candle made from regular candle wax that melts. This wax is a bit harder than say soy or wax squares, so I'm happy enough with its performance to use it for this purpose. Anyway, I bought this heater mainly for this purpose and also to review.
