These pans are fantastic! They are made of heavy gauge stainless steel and are beautiful to look at. I read the reviews before ordering this set and was concerned by some of the negative reviews complaining of scratches and stains. Scratches can be avoided by using wooden or Teflon utensils. Even the most expensive stainless steel set will get scratched if you use metal utensils. Do not use abrasive cleaners such as steel wool as this will also scratch the metal. One of my pots had a small stain on the bottom and I couldn't remove it with regular washing so I did what the directions said and poured some lemon juice on it and that removed it. I wash and dry all pots and lids by hand, not in the dishwasher. I also ordered a matching 8 liter pot. There is nothing about these pans that I don't like and I would highly recommend them to any home cook.
