Review on 🔒 Kwikset 99130-002 SmartCode 913 Non-Connected Keyless Entry Door Lock - Satin Nickel by Brian Inman

This is a great phenomenal lock. He worked for a YEAR. I bought one of these in January 2015. The castle was amazing. This wasn't a decision we were concerned about after reading the reviews. (Note: We changed the batteries in the first house, no problem as other people said in the reviews he would die after changing the batteries.) We moved to a new house in March 2016. We carefully removed it from the first door. , again in the original packaging and sent in boxes from the living room to the house next door. I installed it on a new door as before according to the instructions, no jerking, no shaking, no anything. It worked for about 3 months, said it needed new batteries. Changed batteries and it just beeps. Called Kwikset saying their support is amazing. The customer service rep was very nice, was in the US and tried to help but ended up telling us that he was dead and that something inside the lock was probably broken and that's really common with this type of lock. Well, you might think that the manufacturer guarantees this since this is a common occurrence. It was six months out of the 1 year warranty so they didn't do anything about it. Then my stupid self, because the lock has been so great for the last year and a half and I love that I can recode it personally, bought a second one hoping it was an accident. Long story short I'm sitting here a year and 2 months later with a second lock that locks but won't open which just beeps after a battery change. DO NOT GET THIS BLOCK unless you plan to use it for a year or less. Fool me once, shame on you, fool me twice, shame on me. A few things in case you were concerned about your purchase or if your lock does the same: - The lock will not be exposed to extreme heat when hit by the morning sun. from sunrise to about 11am, and then the rest of the day is in the shade. (In both houses) - The castle is not exposed to excessive humidity. It's very muggy here, but it has never rained and nothing has been spilled from inside or outside. I have no children so it was only used by two adults over 30 using 6 to 10 times a day. Average. We changed the batteries last year, so that would be the second or third battery change for the second lock. the lock opened halfway, but not far enough to open the door. We thought it was just the dogs getting very excited and pushing the door open from the other side, but further testing showed otherwise and the dogs had never done this before. And we just changed the batteries last week, so we know it's not. We always use fresh, brand new Duracell batteries. Straight out of the box.
