Here's the thing. This is not something I would buy for myself as there is no need for it. However, this is one of those fun items that I would love to give or receive as a gift. It works well and makes delicious hot chocolate, but I can make the same hot chocolate on the stovetop and make a dish less messy. Pros: Mixes chocolate well, easy to dip. The pitcher makes it easy to pour the chocolate as opposed to the usual way I do it straight from the pan. An eye-catching way to treat guests to hot chocolate. Makes a decent amount of chocolate per liter, enough for just over 4 cups. Cons: Some chocolate has melted and is sticking to the bottom. The metal plate got a little warm as I dived. I never got the "foam" I was supposed to achieve, and I kept sinking until I couldn't sink any more. Bottom line: You can get the same results, maybe a little better, with a skillet, stovetop, and whisk. If you have a large kitchen and you are asking to fill the empty space with produce, then this is for you. This is an attractive, efficient, but useless kitchen gadget.
