Universal Foamer

This is one of those items that, although advertised for hot chocolate, can be used for other purposes as well. When it arrived I was reminded of my other bodum items (French press pots). It's aesthetically pleasing and would be fun to serve the company's hot chocolate, and the kids felt special having their own hot chocolate carafe. The product works as intended and foams the chocolate fairly easily. If you've ever frothed milk for a cappuccino, do the same. You have to move fast to get airโ€ฆ

Pros
  • This is great
Cons
  • Legacy

I was a little torn on how to rate this chocolatier.

Does what it should. And he does it perfectly. But... and this is a big but, it's a pretty much unnecessary device. You can get the same good results with a saucepan and a hand mixer or electric stick. And if, like me, you've turned on a microwave, you'll have to screw up an extra pot to heat milk or water when using a powdered chocolate mix. This is a beautiful jug and closes really well. Part of the blender handle is metal, but the blades look rather brittle and feel plastic. I think oneโ€ฆ

Not impressed: Kitchen & Dining

I confess I've used it for regular hot chocolate in envelopes. I just didn't have time to try real chocolate. He mixed it well with no residue of powder that can usually be found with a simple spoon. I feel like if I wanted frothy hot chocolate I could use my Magic Bullet for the same results or even a blender. Personally, I wouldn't spend money on this item; Glass looks brittle and plastic is cheap. I didn't think it would last very long, especially if it wasn't stored properly and in a safeโ€ฆ

Pros
  • Good item
Cons
  • Definitely bad product

I used to make homemade hot chocolate and there's nothing quite like the convenience and cleanliness of the task this product offers. Try the package directions, or just mix together some cocoa powder, sugar, and some salt and stir in warm milk. In any case, it's a lot easier and better to do this in this hot chocolate maker than in a sauce pot or kettle as the heat is even and the mixture holds better. It also has the benefit of being able to make a lot of hot chocolate at once and stir itโ€ฆ

Pros
  • Like everything before
Cons
  • Very expensive

Another manufacturer of hot chocolate.

You don't need that, but who buys what we need! It is a good gift when you go to someone's home for dinner and bring chocolate, etc. My hot chocolate didn't foam, but I didn't care. The hot chocolate was good and nice to serve. There is a button on the top that you press up and down to make the paddles work. Works very simply. Plastic. The kids love it. I've found many other uses for it. I also use it to make salad dressings and other concoctions. Just make sure you wash it right after. useโ€ฆ

Pros
  • Hands free
Cons
  • A little wrinkled

Carefree joy

Here's the thing. This is not something I would buy for myself as there is no need for it. However, this is one of those fun items that I would love to give or receive as a gift. It works well and makes delicious hot chocolate, but I can make the same hot chocolate on the stovetop and make a dish less messy. Pros: Mixes chocolate well, easy to dip. The pitcher makes it easy to pour the chocolate as opposed to the usual way I do it straight from the pan. An eye-catching way to treat guests toโ€ฆ

Pros
  • Very good price
Cons
  • Cable is shorter than other picks

High expectations - low results.

First off, let me say that I am a HUGE fan of Bodum products. I have two 12 cup/48 oz Bodum Chambord coffee makers that I use in two places EVERY DAY and they are wonderful, durable and make the best cups of coffee I can make. , and the mixing approach is quite new and inventive, but a small propeller just can't mix all the chocolate, whether powdered or solid. Try opening the device to add more milk or stir/scrape with a spoon, you make a real mess with chocolate dripping all over the placeโ€ฆ

Pros
  • Certified
Cons
  • Infinitely Sluggish
