Review on NGK (1675) PFR7S8EG Spark Plug - Pack of 4: Efficient Ignition Solution for Improved Performance by Reggie Hobbs

Spark Plug Condition: Parts

Installed a second set of NGK Laser Platinum PFR7S8EG on a 2015 Audi allroad (US spec 2.0 TFSI CPMB engine) with 60,000 miles (37,000 miles with this last set of spark plugs). Always use Motul X-Cess 8100 oil and 93 octane Shell petrol (along with a can of Seafoam, Marvel Mystery Oil or Starbrite Startron fuel additive from time to time). The car mostly has motorway kilometers. The heat range on the side electrode was correct, the center electrode color and condition was normal, and the main ring showed dry, dark carbon immediately after a full revolution. Second, I noticed that the new replacement kit (with the exact same connectors) has a gap between 0.028" and 0.032", so I left them as is. I've also noticed that the old plugs didn't feel very tight when removed (but the shims didn't show any gas blowout), so it's a good idea to recheck the 22lb torque after a few miles/time. Candles were originally set up dry. Based on observations between a factory installed set of VAG OE spark plugs (replaced at 23,000 miles) and this final set of NGK spark plugs, I will be replacing the next set in about 30,000 miles. Love the way the car works, just don't believe the life expectancy that is advertised for modern spark plugs based on the amount of deposits seen.
