Review on 🚙 Rugged Ridge 17212.10 Reflex Antenna - 13 inch for 07-Current Jeep Wrangler & 2020 Gladiator by Jim Young

Explored several options to replace the AM/FM antenna for my 16 year old Wrangler JK and was pleased with this choice. First the base of the antenna is unscrewed into three parts (1), the mast (2), the base screw that screws into the standard antenna mount (3), and the black adapter that connects item #2 to the antenna mast item #2 1. This allows you to assemble everything tightly so none of the threads are showing like some I've seen. Make sure everything is assembled with adequate thread engagement and tighten. There is a manufactured arch on the antenna mast. I'm not entirely sure of the purpose of this curve, but I aligned it to make the Fender dealer curve the right choice as there was no indication as to why the curve was needed and it looked more aesthetically pleasing. As you probably know, this short antenna will degrade reception slightly compared to a standard 26 foot metal antenna. However, I have not been able to detect any noticeable deterioration in AM/FM reception, at least locally. As you know this will not affect your satellite radio or navigation either as they use a separate dedicated antenna mounted on the roll bar under the passenger side padding.
