I never thought it would be so effective, not only does it thaw meat but it also helps me to thaw other foods in half the time like sliced cheese, frozen veggies. It's worth buying if you want to defrost food in a healthier way. And the drip tray is a really nice addition to catch water dripping from frozen food. It is important that the effectiveness depends heavily on the ambient temperature in the room and the thickness of the frozen food. If the ambient temperature is low or the frozen food is very thick, the effectiveness will be reduced. Overall very happy with the purchase as it does what it says on the tin
