My experience with the 1999 GT coupe is that they are a bit longer which causes them to be slightly longer when closing the trunk lid. This is not good as it puts stress on the hinge or bracket of the gas lift trunk lid. In my case, the displacement of the truck cover was noticeable when installing this lift and was non-existent with factory parts. The product looks almost like stock, no better and no worse. Most of the body is longer than the stock. The ends are made of plastic like the original. Portion sizes are slightly different. I solved this problem by opening up the holes at the ends of the posts. I don't know if this is a partial failure as the tolerance is very tight and could be the result of the boot lid slipping onto the hinges or brackets on the body. My car had one side better than the other, but still not perfect and it's not a problem with stock parts.
