Review on ๐Ÿ”’ Secure Your Bike with the Altor APEX Folding Bike Lock: Unmatched Protection and Convenience by Patrick Ross

Revainrating 5 out of 5

Great product

Very happy with this lock. I can think of 3 uses: 1. A single lock for a relatively inexpensive commuter bike: It's lighter than other folding locks like the Abus Bordo and arguably more secure (much thicker shackle and hinges look less vulnerable compared to the nut cutter). This is probably just as resistant to AS angle grinders as the comparable clip lock, but with the benefit of being easier to maneuver around bars. Here's how I use it for quick errands.2. Great extra lock for bikes: it goes through the front wheel, around the down tube and through the bike rack. This gives you the convenience of not having to change quick releases/thru axles and is MUCH more secure than say a cable that hooks into the main U-lock. This is how I use it for weekday commuting.3. Great extra lock for electric scooters, if you have something with a folding steering column (like the Boosted Rev) you can flip it up and secure the lock under the platform and above the column just below the steering wheel. Not enough play to lock onto the post, but at least people won't be able to mess with the throttle. As for the locking mechanism, the keyhole is a bit finicky, but I'd happily trade 5 seconds of convenience for added security.tldr: the convenience of a folding lock, the security of a U-lock, lighter than all
