08/11/2021. Bought a second mount. It's totally different from the first one I got a few months ago. The plate that the Garmin half-turn piece attaches to is now a plastic cross shape with threaded brass inserts. The first was all aluminum with threaded holes in the aluminum. Also, the two screw holes holding the plate to the saddle were removed on arrival. First review: I hated the standard rubber strap mount. While I hate adding weight to my bike, this mount is worth it. Well finished and absolutely solid after installation. Varia is set high and does not interfere. I don't use saddlebags, that's what jersey pockets are for! Fits perfectly on my saddle with carbon rails. As a precaution, I taped the seat stays with tape to protect the finish. People who rate this item low because it fell off in the middle of a ride is the user's fault, not the product's fault. Use blue loctite on all screws, you won't have any problems.
