Review on πŸ–¨οΈ Comgrow 1.75mm Printer Filament Spool: High-Quality Additive Manufacturing Products for 3D Printing Supplies by Brian Schultz

Revainrating 5 out of 5

Black had to be printed hot, red was brittle to handle, otherwise both filaments were excellent.

I bought black and red. Both coils were packaged very well compared to some other reviews where others had issues. With black I had some weird underextrusion issues where the extruder "split" - slippage and slight telltale signs of underextrusion at the end - the result. I would switch to other colors and there would be no such problem. I printed a makeshift tower, found that she (black) is very happy to print on 220. At the next pressure, set to 220, the extruder no longer slips. Once I figured out the right temperature, this thread was a pleasure to use. The red one, OTOH, loved 200C as expected but the filament was extremely brittle. It finished printing and broke in two places while idling. Pros (red): Nice prints, no need for temperature surprises. Cons (Red): Fragile, cumbersome to work with, threw away quite a bit at 25mm length. Advantages (black): nice prints, easy to handle. Cons (black): Unexpected temperature requirements, the question of whether they're spinning SPLA or PLA+, and mislabeling the coil.

Pros
  • Industrial & Scientific
Cons
  • Crumpled packaging
