A few years ago I bought a smaller version for my cats (2). It worked out great, I liked it, I'll continue. But as my cats got older, one of them gained weight and both became unwell. So we decided to go one size bigger. Well it's too big. It's huge. They are twice the size of my old one, I would have preferred them to be just half a size bigger. I don't know how anyone could carry a big dog in it because it's so big the dog would be quite heavy. But besides the size, they changed one important thing that I don't like at all. Both have a washable sheepskin cushion which is great. Inside my old sheepskin pillow is a piece of plywood which is great for creating a really solid base. This new, larger size had foam padding inside the sheepskin that couldn't support the weight of my two cats. It sank, making the bottom of the beam very round, and so they drowned in the hole it made. I'm sure they didn't like it at all. So I had to go to a home depot and buy some plywood to cut and paste into the sheepskin. Luckily they had some leftovers from someone else's cut so it was pretty cheap. Now it works much better. I can't imagine why they switched to something that wouldn't support the beast inside. Plywood isn't that expensive and works much better. Other than that, it's still the best carrier I've ever bought. I get supplements when I take my cats to the vet or whatever. People are always impressed by its quality. They are made to last, very high quality. I stay calm and sit in the corner of the room. My cats like to lie in it often. Something they would never do with those cheap plastic holders. I highly recommend it. I just wish they were a size between this and my smaller one. And they need to use plywood as the base again.
