These stamps are probably good for light work. I would suggest that out of sheet metal or aluminium, something harder, they wouldn't make useless little dimples or none at all. The springs just don't do their job. All of them are also unreliable as it may take several clicks for the mechanism to work. It got a lot better with some oil, but still not 100% reliable. I was hoping to use them for punching 1/4 inch thick mild steel. You hit with a hammer, that's my best bet. Unfortunately, a hardened steel bar with a shallow taper sharpened on one end turns out to cost four times as much as these hammers. .Well, I think that lasts forever.Not recommended.
