Hidden Use for Her -

I bought one of these over three years ago and have been so busy I'm only now commenting on its capabilities since discovering it today These have also added an additional hidden feature. My husband and I are both vegetarians and environmentally conscious, so growing our own fruits, vegetables, teas and herbs is very important to us. Years ago, I hand-picked cabbage leaves when I bought boxes of organic farm produce, before my husband and I had a home of our own. Shortly after my husband and I got our own house and land, I started to grow. I don't throw away the stalks of vegetables like cabbage, I sauté them thoroughly to soften them or add them to my homemade soups. Something like stalks of savannah mustard greens aren't chewy, they're crunchy, so I often chop them up with herb shears and add them to salads along with leafy greens. These stylish herb peelers are great for peeling fresh rosemary, and the stalks can be saved and used in things like homemade medley or added to an outdoor grill for vegan pizza. I've found that these herb removers can do double duty, cleaning non-stick pots and pans, outdoor grills, or even pizza stones. They work like these plastic grill cleaners. I find mine particularly helpful when my plastic grill cleaner gets dirty, my husband and I use another to clean our non-stick Aroma Professional quickly and easily. As for removing herbs from soft, narrow stems like peppermint, this can work even if you don't dry the mint first or dehydrate it in a dehydrator and use it as is. - Julie Sands
