Shreddapalooza! the best toy

My cockatoo Goffin just loves this toy and pounced on it straight away! He is an avid paper shredder and loves to get his own treats. This item works great on both fronts. I hide his treats in it and enjoy how he finds them. He pulls and tears colored paper, which is non-toxic, the colors are food coloring, like an excited child with a new toy. The bottom of his cage now looks like it's covered in confetti. It can get dirty sometimes, so make sure you don't mind cleaning the shredded paper before you buy it. When he finds a hidden treat, he raises his topknot, yells loudly, and performs his little merry dance before eating. I would highly recommend this toy to anyone who has a bird that enjoys clipping or feeding. The medium size looks like a colorful softball and fits my cockatoo perfectly. This would be great for Gray Parrots, Revans, or other similar sized birds. If you have smaller species such as Quakers, kennels, cockatiels or parrots I would suggest a smaller one as that size may be too large or intimidating for them. A larger bird like the Macaw, Moluccan, Grey-crested or Umbrella Cockatoo definitely needs more fun. If you happen to save the ball's rope net before your bird can chew it to pieces, you can stuff it back in with non-toxic scraps of paper I found at my local craft store. As I write this review, Willieboy is hanging from one side of the ball and digging up a treat. He's definitely happy and that's all that matters!

Pros
  • Lots of positive emotions
Cons
  • Basically ok, but...
