Smokey the rescue bird loves this toy!

Smokey was rescued from the hoard earlier this year and is now in our SPCA for safekeeping! He hangs out with the staff in the office and we all fell in love with him! He started shredding paper at the bottom of his cage and needed something better to do with his time. I was looking for toys for my birds and came across this toy! It looked perfect so I decided to order it for him. He started pulling out the paper before I could hang it up! He's having a great time!

CHINESE OR AMERICAN MADE?

I ordered two Sweet Foot shredder balls on two different days from the same company. Once 5" and once 7". It wasn't until later that I realized the 7" ball was a "sweet foot and beak super-chop ball" (Made in the USA). The 5" ball was actually a "platinum tweeter toy". (made in China) At first they seemed the same to me but on closer inspection the shredded material was not. I was disappointed that both were not from the USA as I do not trust Chinese products for my birds. I would recommend the

Beware of color transfer to the cockatiel's beak/snout

So I bought this for my white cockatiel. She was with her for about 3 weeks. The toy is still in good condition. The problem is that over the past few weeks I've noticed that my bird has discoloration around the beak, both on the beak and on the feathers around the beak. It's a dark discoloration and I couldn't figure out what it was. Then I remembered the toy and other reviews I had seen before buying it. I did the research by pulling out a few strands of the toy, pouring some water in and…

Ekkie goes shredding

When I adopted an Eclectus parrot who had been through a horrible past, he wouldn't take the toys I offered her. Then I showed her the Super Crush Ball. Now I need to make sure I have a few at the In Your Flock Parrot Magazine headquarters so she has a steady supply of them. She LOVES these things. They come in a larger size, which would be appropriate for a 'big' bird like the Ekki, but he still has some anxiety issues. This 3 inch size has just the right bits and toys inside and isn't overly…

He LOVED/DESTRUCTED this toy!

Our African Gray loved this thing. Or hated it - hard to say. (Just kidding - he was obviously entertained.) The thing is, he spent all his time and energy enthusiastically destroying her once she was hung in his cage. I ordered a medium size and he completely disassembled it in less than a week. We kept adding small blocks to the network to try and extend its lifespan a little more. The bottom of his cage looks like a villain's Mardi Gras parade through town. After being destroyed…

Corella loved it. to death

My cockatiel loved chasing a 3 inch ball. He liked to pull out stuffing and generally made a big mess. No problem. At the time of purchase (December 2019) the string hanging it from the top of the cage was made of the same jute material that holds the ball together. Unfortunately, my Til also liked to attack the line and ended up breaking it. As soon as the ball hit the bottom of the cage, everything changed for him. Now I see from the photos that the cord appears to have been replaced with a…

LESS THAN 24 HOURS WITH LEONARD.

I really wasn't sure how this would work with Leonard (the infamous gray African who was famous for completely destroying fifty dollar toys in three or four days). all is well - over and over again - as he managed to destroy the hanger so much that the toy ended up on the floor of his cage within 18 hours of installation. Perhaps one day people who make bird toys larger than conures will realize that one of the most important parts of the design is the strength of the hanger. I've seen large…

Shreddapalooza! the best toy

My cockatoo Goffin just loves this toy and pounced on it straight away! He is an avid paper shredder and loves to get his own treats. This item works great on both fronts. I hide his treats in it and enjoy how he finds them. He pulls and tears colored paper, which is non-toxic, the colors are food coloring, like an excited child with a new toy. The bottom of his cage now looks like it's covered in confetti. It can get dirty sometimes, so make sure you don't mind cleaning the shredded paper…
