Very happy with this well designed mail slot. Significantly outperforms standard mail slots.

Very happy with this mail slot. We suspected someone was stealing our emails, so we had to use a more secure setting. Decided to use a mailbox on our front door to deliver mail to our home, away from the sticky fingers of would-be thieves. a lot of money with heating and cooling in the long run. This slot is very well designed to block drafts. Spring loaded valves close the valve on a rubber seal and brushes underneath. This is the same for both slots, so you really get four levels of draft protection. It is clear that a lot of time has been invested in the development of this well thought-out solution. A nice bonus: the design not only keeps drafts out, but also makes it difficult for potential onlookers to peek into your home through this slot. You need to keep both flaps open and push the brushes aside. I like it! However, there are a few minor downsides to be aware of. No eyelet is provided for mounting between two slots in case you are mounting the slots on something hollow like a thick garage door. This wasn't a problem with our solid core front door, but I had to be very careful to cut a neat, clean opening. The instructions recommend a hole slightly larger than the slot size, so measure the actual slot size yourself. Both doors are spring-loaded, so your postal worker will need a little more effort to get the mail through. If they only have one letter to deliver, it will be a bit crumpled. Again, overall I'm very happy with this mailbox. Would highly recommend and buy again.
