Metal works, plastic doesn't.
The metal part of the hanger was lighter than I expected. which is probably a good thing given its purpose. On the other hand, the black plastic clip that attaches to the headrest bar broke the first time I put it on. Send it back and don't buy again. If your headrest has thin pillars, you might be fine. I have a BMW 3 Series and don't find the pillars unusually thick.
