This is my first MO and I'm impressed with its features. I tried it on a moonlit night and it was fantastic. It shows a lot of detail from 300 feet away. What total darkness was to my eyes (and I can see perfectly in the dark) was detailed in this NV. And I like its color, it's more purple than green or grey. Once you learn the buttons without looking at them, you will find it easy to operate and change functions. It blinded me at first because the brightness of the LCD was too high for me. When I had it fully typed it was still light to see all the details. The built-in IR light is pretty bright and you can change its brightness. Unfortunately, it cannot be switched off completely (so it is by no means "tacticool NV"). Well, what I didn't like. When buying an NV, keep in mind how much top-up you expect from it. This has a 5x optical zoom. Also narrow field of view. So while it's great for distances over 200 feet, using it to see what's directly in front of you is very impractical. I want it to have the option to switch to 1x view. So I guess it's not a device issue, it's more my expectations. The monocular does what it should. The manual also lists a mounting rail for it so you can mount the device anywhere, but it's not included in the box and can't be found on the manufacturer's website. Pros: Inexpensive, easy to use, uses AA batteries. , beautiful color and sensitivity, well built, comes with a strap and case, comes with a memory card (16GB), can record videos and photos (it's great), can be used in daylight (comes with a daylight filter ). not waterproof, rubberized on/off cover doesn't fit securely and keeps falling off (but hangs on the strap so you can't lose it). In general, I really like the device and I'm glad that it is.
