Installed this on my 2022 F250 Lariat in 20 minutes. The tailgate does not need to be removed, just place it on a blanket over the bumper - you'll see for yourself. It's not tone on tone, but I suppose if you have this bad obsessive compulsive disorder you could do it. So far there have been no problems in the cold northern winter. Maybe in my next life I can afford a truck with a tailgate that goes up and down automatically. But it's close enough. For your health.
