I've read reviews of this rail with plastic holes and lack of accuracy. That's just not true. As you can see from my photos the holes drilled have metal guides and I found the accuracy was spot on. I found this guide much better than using a cheap plastic template. Almost everything is made of solid aluminum and fits perfectly. The only plastic parts are the pilot holes, but these are also rigid, allowing for precise placement and drilling. It comes with a storage bag to keep all the pieces together. As with any manual, make sure your settings are correct and the set screws are tight. Remember that many boxes are NOT the same size. Always check your measurements before drilling. I've found the best way to use this guide is to attach it with a small security clip to keep it in place. This way you only have to focus on drilling and not holding it with your other hand. My steps for drawing: 1. Place the painter's tape on the top of the drawer (to mark the center). Place another piece of tape over the intended drilling areas to minimize splitting.2. Measure the center of the drawer and mark it on the top of the tape.3. Align the guide with the mark above. The guide has a mark for the center.4. Assuming you've already measured the location of the lag screws, place the clamp to hold the rail in place with the top of the rail resting on the front panel of the drawer.5. Check everything again6. Drill each hole.7. Remove the clip and guide.8. Did! You should now have 2 perfectly spaced draw holes. As for the handles, you need to determine where to place them based on your preferred style (e.g. modern, classic or traditional) and then use the plastic edge guide (not used for pulling). to align your guide. Again use a clip to hold it in place. Always check that the guide is in the correct position and then drill out. Rotate the guide so that it is exactly the same for the opposite side door. I think this guide is great for DIYers. It's a lot cheaper than a TP block and does exactly the same thing. I installed over 20 knobs and 10 precision knobs in my kitchen.
