My mother-in-law had a 1940's casserole dish that I now own. The fear that it might break and one day it might break and I wouldn't have a replacement was the trigger that led me to look for a casserole dish that could do the job. So this lid baker was an experiment and a WINNER. My son-in-law asked me to make homemade baked beans (for 20 family members). I used this dish. My husband really loves liver with onions while my mom and I cook and it turned out tender and melted in your mouth. I was delighted to find out that this dish also makes a great casserole. can't compare to roast chicken or roast beef which we like to cook slow and slow and to the point of spoilage so it makes great pulled beef and pork sandwiches. No doubt you will love having it in your inventory. .
