Review on Razorri Comodo Ceramic Fermentation Crock - 2L Traditional Water-Sealed Jar With Glazed Weights - Perfect For Kombucha, Sauerkraut, Kimchi, Pickles (Tangerine Tango) by Jason Sergeantson

Great 2 quart size rather then using two 2 quart mason jars

This is a great little crock for those just starting to ferment or just need a smaller amount. If you use Holly Howe’s recipes, which are excellent, they are based on 1 quart ball jars. This suits those recipes nicely as it is about 2 quarts. You can easily get an average head of cabbage in this crock. This is the type that has a water seal, so after you add the cabbage and salt, you place the weights on top to fully submerge it and put the lid on and fill the top with water to seal. This is fully glazed, but the weights are oddly, not glazed on the ends, just the top and bottom. The handle on mine is a bit sagged over to the side, thus 4 stars, it works fine, just a bit sloppy on the finishing and for the price it could be a bit better. Still, it’s a good size for one or two people which is us. I also have much larger ones for when we grow a surplus, but this size is nice when you have to buy your produce or you are just experimenting and don’t want to have a huge failed experiment to waste. This is a nice crock to start with but I do think it’s pricey for the small size.

Pros
  • Fermenters
