Review on SIIG Industrial Charging Protection ID US0811 S1 by Daniel Jenkins

I really wanted to love this product. Under desk USB3.0+ hubs are hard to find for less than $100. There are a few things you need to know. It's loud here. It emits a high pitched whistle and also alternate beeps. I installed it under my desk and it's still clearly visible. There's no way I can save it. I think if he wasn't around people, in a noisy environment, or in a closet, that would be acceptable. In my situation, it violated the terms of the deal. It is not designed to be installed under a table. The pictures show the surface of the unit mounted on the short end and you would expect the brackets to rotate 90 degrees to allow for a typical under counter installation but the holes do not line up. You can attach 2/4 screws and the mounting plate will be slightly tilted in relation to the rest of the device. Mounting holes are also located at the back of the device, allowing the weight of the cables to act on the mount. The USB function seems to be working fine. I haven't checked the throughput etc. This is my second Siig USB hub. The first one didn't work with the included power adapter but was only fine with USB power so I kept it. This one is too loud, which is probably also due to the power issue. There seems to be a pattern here.
