To be more eco-friendly we bought these to take home instead of using disposable plastic straws. My biggest concern was whether they would be durable enough for everyday use. Yes, so far so good. We've dropped them (both intentionally and accidentally) and nothing has broken so far. They mix with the rest of the dishes in the sink and we easily wash them in the dishwasher. This is laboratory glass, so stronger than ordinary glass. They are thicker than you can imagine which adds to their strength. Sometimes the dishwasher misses something, but they come with brushes, so keep that in mind.
