I've tried many times to get rid of the noise on my laptop but to no avail! This includes using the headphone output for an audio amplifier, various other USB audio interfaces, running cables, various power adapters, etc. Nothing worked until I bought this box. It will show up as "USB Audio Device". I then have an optical SPDIF out that goes to another audio interface (an old Tascam USB) to another desktop computer that I use as my main audio setup and that connects to a good stereo audio amplifier is.
