This works great to power the alarm base station with 12 volts.
I wanted to install a Simplisafe alarm in a trailer that only has 12VDC available, but the alarm requires 7.5VDC instead of 12VDC. The converter included the correct adapter to connect directly to the base station instead of the included 120VAC to 7.5VDC power adapter. Has been running for a month now, no problems. Because the trailer's 12-volt battery is charged by the solar panel, it will last a week or more, even when it's cloudy or dark.
