This is a direct replacement for the Xfinity Internet and Voice Gateway that many people pay $10 a month or more to use. It's the same general shape and size, has the same ports on the back and generally works the same way, and after a year or so it's cheaper to buy than rent. Please note that this model includes a phone line while other modem and router replacement combinations do not. So if you have Xfinity Voice, this is the model you need. MAC support agent and serial numbers, it activated with no further problems. The Wi-Fi feels faster than the gateway it replaced, but that's not backed up by an actual speed test comparison. However, connecting to smart TVs for streaming is noticeably faster.
